My Approach
I start with a comprehensive consultation to do my best to understand your background, strengths, and challenges. From there, we work together on a personalized treatment plan that may include psychotherapy, lifestyle changes, and/or medications. If you already have a therapist and are looking for medication management, I will coordinate your care with your therapist.
I offer in-person appointments in my office in Menlo Park and telehealth appointments for clients in California.

Psychotherapy
My approach tailors the therapy to you by integrating multiple psychotherapy modalities, including:
Psychodynamic/psychoanalytic therapy
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
Cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBTi)
Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)
Couples therapy
Across modalities, my approach to psychotherapy centers on the following:
1) Cultivating a strong therapeutic relationship: I believe that the foundation of effective therapy lies in the therapeutic relationship we create together. I aim to bring humility and curiosity to facilitate a supportive, non-judgmental, and collaborative environment.
2) Building insight and awareness: Present challenges are often shaped by our past and the systems we navigate, sometimes in ways we are not fully aware of. Recognizing that we all have multiple parts, drives, wishes, and fears, I believe that exploring these facets of ourselves and their origins can offer a path to self-understanding and change.
3) Utilizing strengths and developing skills: Even if it does not always feel like it, we all have strengths. I work with you to help identify and utilize your strengths as well as develop practical skills to help you move forward.

Medication Management
My approach to medication management prioritizes symptom relief with the least possible side effects.
Psychiatric medications are immensely helpful to many people, but they are not for everyone. I believe that when used judiciously, medications can be an important part of a treatment plan and enhance progress in psychotherapy.
Whether you are hoping to start, stop, or change medications, I will work with you to discuss the options and develop a treatment plan. We can also review the role for supplements, when applicable.
